Ceramics in natural tones
I may never move on from these soft white-toasty tones. They are earthy but light and seem to fit elegantly into any space. There is natural variation in this matte glaze that shows up carvings or textures and imperfections, perfectly presenting my creations for what they are - handmade pieces, each unique. I’m relatively new to glaze development and this was my first experiment. The base glaze recipe was taken from a book my teacher gave me when I left the west last year for some time back in SA, my home state. I’ve learnt that mismeasuring can lead to unexpected results, small concious tweeks can produce something really interesting and a book can guide me but never as much as a teacher!
